It’s good to be back in the parish again following a summer holiday at home in Ireland with my family. I would like to thank Fr Humphrey and Fr Adam for looking after the parish so generously during my absence.
Today, I will celebrate my final Mass at Sacred Heart Parish, Whaley Bridge, before a new priest assumes responsibility for the pastoral care of the parish from next weekend.
This is also Fr Adam’s final weekend here in Romiley, as he prepares to take up his new appointment as Assistant Priest at Shrewsbury Cathedral. I wish to thank Fr Adam for the great help and support he has given me and Fr Humphrey since his arrival as a deacon last December, and especially since his ordination to the priesthood last July. The gratitude and prayers of us all go with him as he takes up his first appointment in our diocese.
