St Beuno’s Jesuit Spirituality Centre
This is a major Retreat Centre attracting people from all over the World. The range and number of retreats and courses is huge and the facilities excellent. It is Jesuit run and the website gives access to many other spiritual resources you can use from your own home. It is a 75 minute drive away and in a beautiful setting.
The Monastery of Our Lady of Hyning
The Monastery of Our Lady of Hyning at Warton, near Carnforth is home to a community of Cistercian Sisters who offer hospitality and an interesting variety of retreats including both one day and residential.
The sisters of the Sacred Heart of Mary
The sisters of the Sacred Heart of Mary run this lovely house in Penmaenmawr. As well as having a small programme of retreats, they provide for a range of local needs and welcome guests who wish to holiday on the edge of Snowdonia.
Boarbank Hall is home to a community of sisters who are Canonesses of Saint Augustine. It is near Grange over Sands. As well as having a small programme of specialist retreats the sisters have a Guest House and a Nursing Home.
Ampleforth Abbey is the very impressive home of a community of Benedictine Monks. It houses a major Public School. It also welcomes guests and offers retreats in this excellent setting.
